Katen Hvam
[/center]Nickname: Izzy.
Katen doesn’t like her real name, but she was raised to be proud of it. That it holds great power. Because of this, she would not change her name. Someone suggested that she get a nickname. Katen like that idea; she allowed her friends to come up with one. They tried calling her Kate, Katie, or just plan Kat, but those names were rejected with a flat no. There was no way on earth, or whatever planet they were on, that she would have an English name. Frustrated with no one coming up with a good nickname she thought up one by herself. It was random, the name Izzy, but she was bent on it the moment she said it aloud. Katen didn’t even realize that name could be used as a English name. Now she introduces herself as such, “My name is Katen Hvam, but you shall call me Izzy!”
Age: 18 and a half years old.
Born April 12th.
Blood type O.
Race: Genetically Altered Human. While Katen, age 10, was evolving in many strange ways she bumped into a large container full of ink that Hvam family used for their newspapers. She was already usually being exposed to high amounts of ink fuse, so this incident doubled the toxin in the air. Too much of it could poison someone. Katen, however, got off with just a really bad cough, high fever and the chills for about a week. This triggered the evolution leading to her genetic alteration to speed up.
Power(s): Katen has the ability give life to ink, meaning he she draws something then she can make it come off the paper and come to life. Words are a bit different. They control the drawings. If she writes about something she created, it does what she wrote it too. For example, she writes “A tree walks three feet” then the tree she had drawn will walk three feet. This is the only way so far that she is able to control the movements of her creations. She is not an expert at this so she can’t fully control the ink once its off the paper. If it is still on paper she can wield it with out even writing orders, all she has to do is think it or say it.
As she advances, she will gain more knowledge of this power and be able to do more with it. Eventually she will get to the point where she no longer needs paper and can just draw on the air. She will also discover that she has ink running threw her veins, though she can’t really do much with that, it could come in handy if she ever runs out of ink she would be able to use her own blood. This isn’t wise how ever for it could easily drain her of her energy. So even is she learns of this she most likely won’t use it.
Weapons: Bottle of ink and a pen that hides in her shirt.
Physical Appearance: Katen has short messy reddish brown hair. It stops just above her shoulders. She normally has two ribbons in her hair. One on either side. They aren’t put in with care so sometime they won’t be even or just be plan sloppy. Her bangs frame her face nicely and keep her ears warm. Not to long that way they don’t get in her eyes. Katen already needs glasses. Though she doesn’t always wear them, just when she’s reading or feels like it. Katen eyes are a pink-purple, and brighten to a pinkish hue near the bottom. You could say a maroon color. Originally she had hazel eyes, like her father, but just like how she got her inhuman abilities the pigment in her eyes were damaged. The toxic fumes changed the color. It suits her though. At the age of 11 Katen’s growth slowed down enormously. She is about 4 and half feet tall, looking much like a kid.
Clothing: Random. Katen’s clothing choice is completely random. She’ll grab whatever is laying around as long as it follows two rules. One fits and two is that it’s comfortable. For some reason no matter what she puts on it looks good on her. Even though it almost never matches. The ribbons in her hair change sometimes too.
Personality: Katen is very friendly, but doesn't like being around to many people at once. She tends to procrastinate and not finish what she started. Doesn’t get motivated very easily. That is unless no ones paying attention to her. In that case she’ll do pretty much anything to get someone to notice her. Well not anything that would damage her since of pride, which is really big. Because of her pride she has a lot of confidence in herself. It’s a good thing, but can also be her fault. Katen will scarcely ever admit she is wrong. It is like a taboo thing for her. Now if someone catches her doing something wrong she’ll get embarrassed. That feeling will quickly change into anger. On some occasions – about half of them especially if it involves her being caught at speaking English- she will spaz out. That consists of her rambling in Dutch in short or incomplete sentences, and of course getting very flustered. They normally have nothing to do with what’s going on at the time being but it makes her feel better. Though she can have a temper she never gets made enough to start yelling or truly hate a person. She may run off crying saying she never wants to talk to you again, but that will soon be forgotten by her. The next day Katen will act like it never happened because to her it didn’t. She will also get curious very easily.
Likes: She really likes people who pay like her or pay attention to her. Reading. Katen enjoys reading books she hasn’t read already. It gives her a sense of knowledge, which she loves. She is a closet lover of shinny things. Milk, she wants to get taller. Strawberries are delicious or so she thinks. She will only eat to medium sized, extremely red ones. Any other kind she won’t eat. If it is shaped weird, she will just cast it aside like it doesn’t exist.
Dislikes: Katen hates a lot of things. The English language. She despises it, so much that she refuses to use it. Of course with everyone talking it she slips a few words on accident. Bugs bug her. They are small and useless. She considers them to be slimy, icky, and disgusting creatures that shouldn’t exist. The smell of nail polish remover drives her insane. Because of this she’ll keep the nail polish on until it grows out or just paints over it. Sometimes Katen will pick at the polish until it comes off, which isn’t healthy for her nails. She really hates eating carrots; the taste is repulsive to her. If someone forces her to eat it she’ll treat it as the worst punishment ever; it sort of is for her. In fact, she hates all vegetables, but carrots are the worst. She doesn’t like sweets either. Like cake, chocolate and other candy/dessert stuff. Katen has a cats tongue. That means she hates hot things. She will blow on her hot chocolate for three minutes straight just to make sure it’s not too warm. A strange thing is that she hates huge crowds. They tend to scare her, even though she loves attention. Because of this, she tries her hardest to avoid them at all cost.
Background: Katen was born in a place called Livsk. She has a mother, Saskia, a father, Vladimir, and a brother, Arend. Her father runs the newspaper. He is 31 years old as of now. Vladimir has red hair and hazel eyes. He has a goatee. Saskia is 30 and helps with making the prints. Her hair is a long wavy dark brown that match her almost black, brown eyes. The youngest of the family is Arend at 11 years of age he has reddish brown hair that is cut short. Like his father, he has hazel eyes. His job is to hand out the newspapers. Well sells them. Normally he stands on a corner, but on some occasion, he takes them to the person. For example, an elderly person will get it delivered to them. When Katen was younger, that was her job. Now she helps Vladimir with his work so that she can inherit the business. Well used to. She ran away from home because she wanted to do something else. She was bored with her life and people didn’t treat her with enough respect. So she’s her to take out her frustration.
Extra: Seyyehn was the name of her position back in her old town.
